Sell your UFC card collection
To sell a UFC card collection on CardResell, sort the cards, check what each has sold for, and list them: singles and lots are free to list, and a commission is taken only when a card sells. Cards whose recent sold comps are $40 or more can also be requested for consignment, which is by invitation, and cash offers are not live, so CardResell does not buy collections outright. Scanner reads and price figures are informational and can be wrong.
1. Sort the pile
Start by sorting by fighter, then by set and year. Pull out the numbered cards (a print run such as 12/99 is printed on the card), autographs, relics and graded slabs, because those usually need their own listing and their own price check.
2. Let the scanner do the typing
On the sell form, the scanner reads a card photo and fills in the fighter, set, year, parallel and serial number, and reads the grade printed on a slab label. To list a pile faster, photograph several cards laid out on a table: the sell form reads each one and queues them up, and you review every card before it goes live. Every read is an AI-assisted guess that can be wrong, so check each draft against the card.
3. Check recorded sold prices before you price
Asking prices are not sales. Check what the same card has sold for with the free price check or a fighter price guide. A value appears only when 3 or more recorded sales of the same card back it, and otherwise the page says it is still building. Figures come from recorded sales that can be incomplete or out of date, and they are not an appraisal.
4. Decide what to list alone and what to bundle
Listing is free and a commission is taken only when a card sells, so a card that does not sell costs nothing to leave up. New sellers start with limits on how many cards can be listed at once and on the price of one listing, a bundle counts as one listing, and the limits lift as you complete sales; your current limits show on the sell form. Cards that are worth more than the cost of tracked shipping suit a single listing. Cheaper cards can be listed together as a bundle: one price, one order and one package instead of shipping each card on its own. Every order ships tracked, and a US seller's prepaid label is bought with the shipping the buyer pays.
5. Consignment, by invitation
If you would rather not do the listing yourself, you can request consignment. It is by invitation: send a request and CardResell tells you whether it can take the card. Cards whose recent sold comps are $40 or more can be requested, and if CardResell takes a card it lists, sells and ships it for a flat 10% of the final sale price, with nothing up front and nothing if it does not sell. The card stays yours until it sells. Cash offers, where CardResell buys a card outright, are not live. How consignment works has the details.
6. Ship each sale tracked and get paid
Each sold card ships with carrier tracking. The buyer pays first and the payment is held by our payment processor until the carrier confirms delivery and the buyer's inspection window ends, or until the buyer confirms receipt. Your payout then moves to your Stripe account. How to sell a UFC card walks through listing, shipping and payouts step by step, and Where to sell UFC cards compares other places to sell.
7. Keep records for taxes
Money from selling cards is generally taxable income, whether or not you receive a tax form. CardResell is not a tax advisor and this is not tax advice. Your Sales page has a Tax and earnings summary with a CSV download.
Common questions
- How do I sell a large UFC card collection?
- List the cards as singles, which is free, and list cheaper cards together as bundles. You can photograph several cards laid out on a table and let the sell form queue them up for you to review. For cards whose recent sold comps are $40 or more you can also request consignment, which is by invitation.
- Can CardResell buy my collection?
- No. Cash offers, where CardResell buys cards outright, are not live. You list the cards yourself, or request consignment, which is by invitation and costs a flat 10% if CardResell takes the card.
- How do I know what each card is worth?
- Use the free price check, which allows 6 checks a day with no account, and the fighter and set price guides. A value is shown only when 3 or more recorded sales of the same card back it, and every figure can be incomplete or out of date.
- Do I pay to list the cards?
- No. Listing is free. The seller's commission is 5% of the item price under $500, 4% from $500 up to $2,000 and 3% from $2,000 up, with a $0.50 minimum, and a seller's first completed sale has no commission.
- Do I owe taxes on what I sell?
- Money from selling cards is generally taxable income, whether or not you receive a tax form. CardResell is not a tax advisor and this is not tax advice. Your Sales page has a Tax and earnings summary with a CSV download you can give to an accountant.
